Recently one of my friends bought "THE WHITE TIGER" book from Barnes & Noble book store. So, I have been reading it for a while and completed today. This book tells how a typical Indian thinks and lives his life. The Author of this book (Mr.Aravind Adiga) has given good narration to Mr.Jiabao (China PM) about Laxmangarh ( Village of India), Education in villages, poor people's life, how they serve rich people and then about Delhi, driver's life in Delhi, rich people's daily schedule, politicians corruption, life in slums, police involvement in corruption, Banglore (now Bengaluru) , IT , Outsourcing (which is opposed by President-elect Obama) and two sides of human being (Whether it's rich or poor).
Balram Halwai is a protagonist for this novel who becomes Ashok Sharma. He is from a poor village with half baked education. He managed to learn the driving and get the job at a filthy rich man. He moves to Delhi with his rich man's son Mr.Ashok. He realizes his life's destiny and one day slits his master's throat and escapes with big sum. He becomes a boss for White Tiger Inc (Taxi company) in Banglore. This is the story of the novel in my own words.
I believe there are only two types of people in this world, one is Rich and the other is Poor. There is a vast difference in India how rich people treat poor and other people when compared to most of the countries of the world. I faced it in my life but never noticed about it. When I came to US, came to know many things how should be a human being treated irrespective of his religion, country, cast and status. It didn't mean that US is one of the best countries in the world to live but compared to India it's far good. Apparently, India doesn't deserve to be called as a Democratic nation. It's a kingdom ruled by corrupted, fat bellied Politicians.
The novel goes on like a stream of river and one should read who wants to know about real India, not the India shown in "Incredible India Ad" on Television.
